Come prepared for The Great March to The Wall (Northeast Corner Madison & California), at 1:15 pm; followed by the Streetz Party at the wall from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. As it was in life, it remains in legacy, the attack on the struggle for self-determination, led by then director of the F.B.I., J. Edgar Hoover, who deemed the Black Panther Party to be the number one threat to internal security of the United States – continues today.
How was the Black Panther Party an internal threat? By providing the first Free Breakfast Programs, Free Medical Clinics and many other survival programs, that provided vehicles for the people to fight in their own interests. Chairman Fred Hampton organized the original Rainbow Coalition that brought people across diverse racial, political, gender and class interests, to fight together on specific points of unity.
